Helping A Hero
One Book at a TimeVeteran Homelessness is a serious problem in the United States.
HelpAHomelessHero.com wants to do just as our name says “Help”.
It is our primary mission, won’t you please join us?
About Us
As a 24 year retired veteran
of the USAF and 107th New York Air National Guard, I encourage you to pause, and reflect on the great debt we owe our veterans. One of the most important ways we can show our gratitude is to help our veterans with this often-difficult transition back to civilian life, and secure safe and affordable housing.
My name is Ken and this is a one person operation as a way to help out these Hero’s in their time of need. Most people are not aware that according to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, approximately 40,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Some of the issues that contribute to this problem are lack of family or social support networks, PTSD, mental illness, and lack of affordable housing. Some Military occupations, and training do not transfer over to the civilian workforce. Making it difficult for many of these Hero’s to find a job and provide a sustainable income.
What We Do
Raising Money
The goal of HHH is to raise money for existing non profit organizations that are already on the ground doing this work every single day to help a Hero in need.
The primary way we raise money is by selling donated books on our Ebay store.
Most households have an ever-growing collection of books that are collecting dust on a shelf. Eventually, people decide to clean their shelf space by hosting garage sales, or just throwing them out; we offer a positive alternative.
By donating at least a few of these books or other needed items, you are helping aid a hero in need.
Collect Needed Items
Each non profit organization that HHH donated money to is always in need of other items such as personal hyguine products and new or gently used clothing.
Public Awareness
We have a unique opportunity to provide the general public with information regarding the Veteran homeless problem and of the nonprofit organizations that we are working with during our collection of donated books.
How It Works
Overview:
A person, group, or organization would donate a book in new, or gently used condition to HHH Then I would list them on our eBay bookstore for sale. For every book sold, a portion of the sale is donated directly to an nonprofit organization listed below.
To start the process, simply reach out to me by clicking on the donate button below and fill out the form or just send me an email to [email protected]. I will confirm the date, time, and your location so I can stop over and make the pickup.
As I mentioned above this is a one person operation and HHH is not a nonprofit organization at this time. As I grow, it will help me reach my goal to become a nonprofit company.
I understand if you only donate to a nonprofit so I’m open to making an offer for your books, think of it as a garage sale where you only selling your books.
If you don’t have any books to donate, consider donating other needed items which I will pick up and drop off to the nonprofit for you or visit our eBay Store to purchase one of our books. Please see our links below.

What The Future Holds
HHH is moving towards becoming an non-profit.
As HHH moves forward we would like to become a transitional place of employment for our veterans. HHH would temporarily employ and train these veterans as they move forward towards their independence.
